OBScene - Ottawa Blues Society Newsletters
The Quarterly OBS Newsletter "O(ttawa)B(lues)Scene" has been on hiatus for over a year.
We’re looking for someone to take on the Editor position.
The purpose of the newsletter is to assist in the implementation of the mission of the Ottawa Blues Society – “To foster appreciation, promotion, preservation and enjoyment of the blues in all of its forms”. The newsletter informs members of past and upcoming events and provides CD/DVD/show reviews and other items of interest to blues fans. The publication schedule is quarterly – two issues (Spring and Fall) are electronic only and two issues (Summer and Winter) are print and electronic. Print issues are mailed to OBS members in good standing.
The primary responsibility of the Newsletter Editor is to choose the content by soliciting articles and photographs, by writing articles and by encouraging members to write and/or provide photographs for the newsletter. Submitted articles must be edited for grammar, spelling, length and content relevance. The previous newsletter editor was also responsible for the newsletter layout (utilizing a format that is consistent from newsletter to newsletter, i.e. use of a template).
Additional volunteers are always welcome to submit articles, reviews and photographs for inclusion in the newsletter.
All OBS volunteers must be (or become) members in good standing of the Ottawa Blues Society.
